Ativan, yes the brand name for Lorazapam. I wouldn't say it's the brother of Xanax. Alprazolam (Xanax) is more closely related to Midazolam (Versed) and Triazolam (Halcion). They belong to the Triazolobenzodiazepine family.

As someone in graduate school for clinical psychology, this is perhaps my favorite scene put to film. These insane apprehensions people with prescriptive authority have caused so much undue agony, and like Leo’s character said leads them to seek relief elsewhere, which if often on the street or through sketchy online vendors.
Literally just had to beg my Dr for 7x 5mg valium. Been having non stop panic attacks and haven't slept properly in weeks, tried to off myself a week ago. If she hadn't given me them I would have just bought them online. At least if I get them off her I know there isn't any fentnyl in them.
@@cookiebilbo For only 7 they hastle you!!!! I get 60 1mg Clonazepam and 30 .25mg triazolam every month. You should try looking for a doctor more liberal with prescribing, I have a resource if you're interested.

Valium would have certainly been better. Also, Miltown (meprobamate) would be the score, if only doctors would prescribe it these days.
Believe it or not they do. Had a friend who had a doc that prescribed it and he'd give me a few occasionally. I remember it working well but not particularly great....and it was crazy expensive too, possibly bc there are almost no manufacturers now. I had the same issue with chloral hydrate and seconal a few years ago (both expense and finding a pharmacy with it)
@@procrastinator6902 Carisoprodol (Soma) metabolizes via the liver into Miltown. That was my only experience with it. That's tough to get these days, as well, unless you're lucky :)

@@mindriot91_96 Kind of. Found a pharmacist whose company he had contracted with that was able to get it if he ordered it. But it was crazy expensive (I think bc there was only a single manufacturer still left that made them) and my prescription was for only 20 pills, and they were sold in bottles of 100. Said since mine was the first script he'd seen for it in over a couple decades he couldn't justify the cost for the rest to just sit in stock, likely forever.

My dr yelled at me told me I need to be on anti psychotics. Gave me seroquel I too told her i feel like I'm having a heart attack and cant sleep cant stop pacing my house. I recently did put a gun to my head with a bottle of jack. I think I'll tell her this next time. Just prescribe us what works. I'll fing it on the street or worse yet heorin/fentanyl. It's easier to find then weed where I'm at. I hate my fucking dr with a passion and would never ask her out for coffee. She's old mean just like nurse ratched.

As a clinical psychologist myself Valium isn't first line treatment, he'd probably be prescribed some reputake inhibitor or beta blocker instead first, so the fact he went straight up asking for valium before other therapies have been suggested could mean hes drug seeking. Whats odd is at first she seems to think the whole reason Leo's made an appointment with her to get Valium, so did she not read his file and understand the immense amount of stress she's under. A terrible therapist
